Groundbreaking Fire Station Hits Granada Hills
Today marks the first anniversary of the Granada Hills Fire Station 87 Grand Opening. Serving the north central San Fernando Valley communities of Granada Hills, Northridge, North Hills and Mission Hills, this state of the art facility accommodates 16 staff members every day.

One of the welcome features of the Granada Hills Fire Station has been the installation of energy efficient air conditioning units. The facility now has air-conditioning and heating systems that meet all building and safety codes, much to the appreciation of the Granada Hills fire fighters.

The previous fire station, which was located on the adjacent side of the street, was eventually shut down due to Building Code violations. The old Balboa Boulevard Granada Hills Fire Station did not meet seismic safety, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, or plumbing codes.
