Oak Park-carrier-infiinity-acMeasure R Aids Oak Park
Measure R, the School Facilities Improvement Bond, passed November of 2008. Some funds from that $29.4 million bond are allocated for the Oak Park School District. There are many renovations planned for the Oak Park schools, many of which will be implemented this summer.

The oversight committee is currently in contact with construction teams to ensure all work is done to code and within budget. Air conditioning makes the top of the Oak Park to-do-list. By next summer, the Medea Creek Gym, should be fully air conditioned. Seismic shut-off valves were already installed over Spring break in four Oak Park Schools, making all of the area schools up to earthquake standards. New energy efficient PVC roofs will also be a part of the new and improved Oak Park School District.

Since the jobs will entail repairing existing buildings and installing equipment on structures already built, a lot of the work will be done during the school year.
