Westwood-carrier-infiinity-ac Metal Thieves Hit Westwood
Westwood residents are on the lookout for air conditioning bandits. Last year, around this same time, copper and aluminum-laden air conditioning coils became the main target for metal thieves. This year, homeowners, apartment dwellers, and business owners are on the lookout.

Air conditioner coils get about $1.25 a pound at recycling sites. Industrial unit pay out is about $60 cash at trade-in, and recycling plants are under no obligation to get information.

Air conditioning theft is illegal and law enforcement has planted surveillance equipment throughout Westwood, in hopes of catching the bandits in the act.
