Newhall School District Keeps Vents Clean
There are approximately 112 classroom bungalows in the Newhall School District. While the conveniently placed portable classrooms serve their purpose, by alleviating campus overcrowding, some of the portable building materials may in fact emit toxic fumes.
Several years ago Newhall school officials took matters into their own hands, by hiring maintenance workers to regularly check on the interior air conditions. The primary preventative measure the maintenance team monitors involves the routine service of bungalow heating and air conditioning vents. The cleaner the air blowing into the rooms, the more chance of eliminating any toxic fumes.
There is an ongoing effort, by the city of Newhall, to ensure the highest quality of education for their students, which includes a safe and clean environment. The Newhall Schools have repeatedly passed the chemical level federal standards and plan to continue the monitoring of indoor air quality, for the well-being of the students and staff.
