The Air Conditioning Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and the Department of Energy (DOE) have taken a stand and vowed to review the current residential furnace efficiency standards. The goal is ensure that all furnace equipment meets the United States environmental and safety guidelines.

High efficiency heating and cooling systems make a positive environmental difference and create the possibility for future savings. It’s the initial set-up fees that prove to be quite costly and hinder some consumers from purchasing the new and improved equipment.

Heating system repairs still go a long way in maintaining proper functioning of furnaces, while the new super high efficient heating and cooling systems provide another homeowner option. Regulators plan to stay on top of the United States energy policies in an ongoing effort to increase environmental awareness and heating and cooling efficiency.
